Zeta integrates april’s embedded tax filing to empower families to thrive financially
April News
3 minutes

Zeta, the innovative banking suite for households, announced a revolutionary partnership with april, an industry trailblazer developing AI-powered financial technology focused on modernizing taxes. Integrating with april, an IRS-authorized e-file provider, radically simplifies the process of claiming deductions and credits relevant to many families.

Taxes for those married filing jointly has historically been a source of financial stress. According to april’s 2023 State of The Taxpayer Report, "Taxes are a solitary chore. Although 52% of our sample was married or in a domestic partnership, only 30% said that choosing a tax software was a joint decision between them and their partner.” Because of the need to aggregate paperwork from multiple jobs and sources, it’s difficult to make financial planning recommendations for saving and investing. Nearly 65% of divorces are in some part due to money, according to Zeta.

To bridge the gap between couples and their finances, Zeta is developing a one-stop-shop to help families thrive financially. Tax filing is the next step on the journey. When the IRS opens for tax filing, Zeta’s users will be able to utilize the data they’ve already shared with Zeta and seamlessly complete their filing together right from within the app.

Until now, households had to purchase often expensive standalone tax software disconnected from their other financial apps. To file, they had to manually and tediously answer thousands of often repetitive questions while importing documents from dozens of sources.

"We’re excited to meet families where they already are,” said Ben Borodach, CEO and Co-Founder of april. “Zeta is the premier banking app for households. With integrated tax filing, we’re able to personalize the tax experience, enabling couples to skip unnecessary questions, reduce the time to file, and get ahead of their finances together.”

The embedded tax experience has been optimized for mobile, allowing users to easily review the data they’re importing, instilling confidence and control in their filing experience. Zeta and april are committed to providing innovative solutions that enable families to maximize their returns and navigate the tax landscape efficiently.
